Taphouse at the Exchange

  • Project Description

The Penrose Taphouse and Eatery is a 6,000 SF, 1 story restaurant and bar featuring indoor/outdoor spaces separated by garage doors. The outdoor spaces include 2 patios, one covered by a stunning pergola with shade sails, and one opening into an open-air central plaza in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins. The original building was built in the late 1900s and was utilized as a horse livery, and then as an Auto shop for multiple years. The welcoming interior of Penrose highlights the “Old and the New”, utilizing locally reclaimed wood and materials in unique ways. The large bar top was created from a black elm tree that was removed from Colorado State University, and the commercial kitchen was constructed around the old auto shop garage bays.
